It is with regret that I have to inform you of South First Band’s decision to call it off. They have thought it out and decided that they need to tend to bigger things with life.

Believe me it was a shock to me as well. They came by the house to unload some luggage before the gig at Wild West – opening for Jack Ingram. We told everyone where to sleep, shared some homemade wine, and started shooting the latest news at one another. Jack Clark stopped by to say hi to the guys and as he was leaving he said “Can’t catch y’all tonight, but maybe next time!” He walked out the door and Jeff asked Warren “You didn’t tell him?”. Warren replied “I didn’t have the heart too.”

I picked up on the little something going on and screamed “What is going on?”. Warren decided to put it blunt. “This is our last show out here” he stated. “You mean in Lubbock? Why?” I replied. “Yes, and no. This is our last show out here and the next one in Lufkin is our last show forever.” What the crap?

I was shocked, upset, and well a million things. They have decided that it is a road they’ve traveled long enough. They are going to look at settling down a bit and “get real jobs”.

Incase you have not never got to see them or hear them. South First Band rocks, damn it, rocked! I hate past tense.

I’ll just say this Doug Eberman was here when they dropped the news, and he just sat here with his mouth open and pretty much speechless.

I don’t care who it pisses off. I am putting a few of my favorite SFB song’s on here for download for free. Go to the downloads page ….
